Caliper Disc Brakes

Disc Clutches and Brakes
Disc clutches and brakes utilize a piston to move internal discs axially. They’re are available for either pneumatic or hydraulic actuation. Spring set configurations are used for applications where failsafe operation is required.
Drum Clutches and Brakes
Drum clutches and brakes transfer torque by clamping on the outside diameter of a drum. This provides maximum torque per brake radius. Eaton Airflex drum brakes feature an expanding air bladder which clamps onto the full drum circumference.
Electric Clutches and Brakes
Electric clutches and brakes can come in many different forms, but all utilize electricity for actuation. A benefit of using electricity for your brake is that electricity is readily available in most mechanical usage scenarios. Overrunning Clutches
These high quality overrunning clutch products are available from Clutch Engineering. Each item is precisely designed to meet a variety of specialty use cases. Overrunning clutches feature an inner and outer race. Due to the product design, when rotated in one direction, the sprags will engage. This assists with transferring torque between the races. Rotated in the other direction, the sprags disengage. This makes them perfect for overrunning, backstopping, and indexing applications.
Power Take Off (PTO) Clutches

Tooth Clutches
Clutch Engineering offers high-performance clutch products, including precision manufactured tooth clutches. Air engaged tooth clutches reach up to 60,000 in-lbs. torque. Spring engaged tooth clutches provide up to a maximum of 72,000 in-lbs. torque. Multiple or single-position tooth clutches are positive engagement devices having open or enclosed housings. Single and double-flex couplings are specially designed for high torque tooth clutches are utilized with inline shaft connections. Tooth clutch designs include a pilot-mount version (accepts sprockets or couplings), a flange mount version that connects to bearing supported devices and integral sprocket versions.
Torque Limiting Clutches
Depending on the intended function of each model, a torque limiting clutch will either slip or completely disengage in the event of a torque overload. Torque limiting clutches are innovative deterrents to many torque spike and overload issues. These issues can otherwise lead to expensive and dangerous events. This is useful with a variety of equipment, including cranes and other heavy lifting applications. If a heavy load was to snag or drop into a sudden stop, it would put additional stress on a system that may not be able to survive the event without a torque limiting clutch.
