Conductix-Wampfler operates as part of the internationally recognized Delachaux Group. Conductix was formed in 2006 through the merging of Insul-8 Corporation, formed in 1944, and Industrial Electric Reels, formed 1945. Conductix then combined with Wampfler in 2007. Wampfler traces its roots back to Germany in 1959. The Conductix-Wampfler Division is now the largest global producer of systems and equipment for transferring energy and data for many applications. These include cranes and other material handling equipment, people movers, light rail systems, amusement rides, and many types of automated machines. They provide a broad range of conductor bar (Safe-Lec 2, Hevi-Bar II, Insul-8), festoon systems (C-Rail, I-Beam), cable reels (1400 and 1900-2400 Series, RhinoReel), bumpers, and remote controls.
Conductix-Wampfler has one critical mission: to provide energy and data transmission systems that will keep your vital operations running 24/7/365. Clutch Engineering can provide rugged, low-maintenance products which have been proven in the most demanding industrial environments. Clutch Engineering offers the rugged and easy to install Conductix-Wampfler Safe-Lec 2 conductor bar, for a variety of industrial uses. For this product, the collector arm is able to articulate through a wide range of motion to keep the shoe in contact with the rail. The shoes are guided by a v-contact in the bar itself. Safe-Lec 2 is insulated for IP2 “”finger safe”” operation.
Maximum Recommended Hanger Spacing: 1.5 Meters (59.0”) on straight runways, 1.125 Meters (44.3”) on all Lateral Mount Systems and Curved Systems (curved section only)
Maximum speed: 1,200 ft/min (365.7 m/min)
Typical applications include: Small to medium overhead cranes, conveyor systems, monorails, amusement rides
The Conductix-Wampfler Insul 8 8 Bar conductor bars can be bent to a tighter radius than most other systems and are quick and easy to install. Offered by Clutch Engineering, the Conductix-Wampfler Insul 8 8 Bar conductor bar is the original 8 bar system. Conductix-Wampfler 8-Bar is usually installed with bar profile oriented vertically and the collector shoe entering from the bottom. Installations that operate in a wet or dirty atmosphere or corrosive environment must be vertically mounted.
Maximum speed: 900 ft/min (274.3 m/min)
Typical applications: Small to medium overhead cranes, conveyors, monorails, hoists
The Conductix-Wampfler Hevi-Bar II conductor bar uses surface area to dissipate heat. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically to function according to your needs in many instances. Conductix-Wampfler Hevi-Bar II conductor bar is available from Clutch Engineering and it is designed to last for the life of your equipment. Optional Dura-Coat finish provides protection in corrosive environments. (When mounting web brackets, take special care in aligning the brackets at precisely the same height as to assure level travel of the system.) Web brackets may be mounted by bolting the bracket to the support structure or by welding the bracket in place.
Maximum speed: 2,000 ft/min (609.6 m/min)
Typical applications: Medium to large overhead cranes, transit systems, steel mills, chemical plants
Clutch Engineering offers Conductix-Wampfler C-Rail festoon systems for a variety of uses and environments. These systems can be made to survive in some of the most demanding of environments. Based on their advanced construction, they can be used indoors or outdoors. Special explosion-proof versions are available for additional durability. Tracks should be straight, or only partially curved. The festoon systems for C-rails are only used for project-specific requirements. The product has undergone hazard analysis and the construction and design are based on the latest technology.
Max capacity per trolley: 275 lb (125 kg)
Maximum speed: 393 ft/min (120 m/min)
Typical applications: Overhead bridge cranes, hoisting devices, conveyor systems”
Available from Clutch Engineering, Conductix-Wampfler I-Beam festoon systems can serve the needs of heavy cable and high-speed applications. These festoon systems are designed to perform in various tough environments. Trolleys are available for both flat and round cables. For higher-speed or heavy cable applications, Conductix is able to manufacture motorized cable trolleys. The use of a pre-assembled festoon system (with pre-attached cables on the cable trolley) will save a significant amount of time and money. The festoon system is built in accordance with recognized safety/technical regulations using the latest technology and has been checked for safety compliance by the manufacturer.
Max capacity per trolley: 1,763 lb (800 kg)
Maximum speed: 984 ft/min (300 m/min)
Typical applications: Ladle cranes, conveyors, stacker cranes, container cranes
Clutch Engineering offers Conductix-Wampfler’s 1400 Series PowerReel spring-driven cable reels. These cable reels feature rugged all-steel construction for use in tougher conditions while maintaining their efficacy. These reliable cable reels are designed for long service life without extensive maintenance, if any. A ratchet mechanism locks the cable at the desired length and can also be disabled as needed. The reel may be mounted by bolting the base to any flat surface which is structurally sound enough to support it and the forces of winding and unwinding the cable.
Available cable length: 20 to 80 ft (6.1 to 24.38 m)
Typical applications: Overhead hoists, truck cranes, extendable conveyors
Conductix-Wampfler 1900 Series and 2400 Series PowerReel from Clutch Engineering are both spring-driven cable reels that are useful for various cranes and automated material handling. These cable wheel products are built to NEMA 4 standards for indoor or outdoor use, which gives you a greater variety of usage possibilities. The two-piece cable roller guide has a mounting range of 345 degrees. The cable reel’s spring motor canister is sealed and lubricated for life. All 1900 & 2400 Series Cable Reels can be furnished with a pivot base to allow the reel to rotate and keep the extended cable perpendicular to the application.
Typical applications: Overhead cranes and hoists, truck cranes, automated material handling
Clutch Engineering offers the Conductix Wampfler RhinoReel to meet some of the most demanding mill applications. This is a spring-driven cable wheel that uses linear springs rather than traditional clock springs. These features result in longer life and a smooth, linear torque curve. The linear torque curve creates the smoothest operating reel on the market, without any erratic motion. The life time lubricated ball screw and chain/sprocket drive system require no routine maintenance. This longer life translates to less machinery downtime and a lower cost of ownership.
Typical applications: Magnet cranes, grapples, transfer cars
Conductix-Wampfler motor driven reels cater to all kinds of applications, including the management of low voltage and high voltage cables or hoses. Conductix-Wampfler’s Heavy Load (HL) Series motor-driven cable reel are corrosion-protected to stand up to the toughest environments. These cable reels are designed for 5 year or 15,000 hour operation before any maintenance is required. Installation on-site can be completed quickly and periodic maintenance is fast and easy. Clutch Engineering offers these cable reels to enhance your working environment and fulfill your power needs.
Typical applications: Ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes, ship unloaders, stackers/reclaimers, shipbuilding cranes
Clutch Engineering offers Conductix-Wampfler High Dynamic (HD) Series motor-driven cable reels. These cable reels are comprised of very efficient components. Boasting a low starting inertia, their sophisticated speed and torque control is useful for highly dynamic operations. At container and bulk ports, steel mills, theaters, waste water treatment plants, and mines, Conductix-Wampfler motorized reels can handle many demanding requirements, even in harsher environmental conditions.
Typical applications: Ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, rail mounted gantry (RMG) crane, rubber tired gantry (RTG) cranes, spreader reels
