#1 BRAKE PROBLEM
See how we helped a Paper Company reduce replacement parts for their air cooled drum-style brake system AND lower down time for repairs.

#2 BETTER CONTROL, LESS MAINTENANCE
See how we helped a Steel Company with a tension control and leaking water cooled brakes in an annealing furnace, redesigning the braking system and lowering repair down time.

#3 SIMPLE SOLUTIONS WORK BEST

#4 ENGINEERED BREAKDOWN RETROFIT
This real situation highlights Clutch Engineering customer service.  A retrofit of a replacement motor is engineered by Clutch.

#5 MORE PRODUCTION, LESS MAINTENANCE
This brake problem caused much production down time on a mechanical press.  See how we solved this costly problem.

#3 SIMPLE SOLUTIONS WORK BEST!

Do you have any of the following concerns with water cooled equipment?

  • Cost of incoming and outgoing water
  • Quality of the water - mineral deposits/corrosion
  • EPA restrictions on discharged water
  • Condensation problems
  • Physical limitations on installation
  • Cold weather performance

  SOLUTION

Closed loop cooling systems from CEC can handle all of these and more.  We offer 6 standard sizes up to 250 thermal horsepower with larger sizes available on request.  The photo shows a recent installation at a Connecticut steel mill.  Our Model 50 is shown cooling a Wichita -124 Kopper Kool Brake on an uncoiler on a slitting line.  The maximum line speed is 900 feet per minute with a total tension on the material of 2,000 pounds.  The customer specified our cooler due to the problems and costs of being on city water along with the ease of installation due to its pre-assembled configuration.  This also allows the cooler to be located close to the equipment, minimizing plumbing effort and costs.
