Our History
Since 1960, Clutch Engineering has been serving industrial customers in the New England region starting out as a Manufacturer Representative for The Wichita Clutch Company.
In 1984 when Wichita Clutch was sold to Dana Corporation, we turned from Manufacturer Rep to a stocking distributor for the full Wichita Clutch product line.
It was only a few years later, in 1990, that Clutch Engineering was sold by the original owners. After the sale, Clutch Engineering expanded its product line to include a diverse group of industrial brake manufacturers to better service its customer base in New England.
Clutch Engineering Today
Clutch Engineering was sold for a second time in 2018 to The Rowland Company, an Industrial Distributor in the Mid-Atlantic region. Since the sale, Clutch Engineering has even further expanded its product line from brakes and clutches to include friction materials, couplings, driveshafts and many other power transmission products. Along with new products came a fully staffed customer service and engineering department, as well as a full-service shop with abilities to repair, fabricate, and assemble various products used in the industrial space.
